Privacy Policy

What we collect

PrivyTranslate does not collect translation text, prompts, personal identifiers, usage analytics, advertising data, or device telemetry. The app does not require an account or provide cloud sync.

How translation works

• Built-in Local: the bundled GGUF model processes translation on your device.
• Ollama and LM Studio: if you configure a local server, text is sent directly to the address you choose.
• OpenAI-compatible providers: if you configure a remote endpoint, text is sent only to that provider according to its own privacy policy.

Local storage

Translation history and preferences are stored locally on your device. Where the platform supports it, API keys are stored in secure system key storage. You can remove history in the app or uninstall PrivyTranslate to remove its local data.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties. On supported mobile devices, the Share Extension only receives content that you explicitly share and does not independently send it anywhere.
